I've tried a lot of different gaiters over the years and absolutely love this design with the zip closure instead of the typical velcro. Huge bonus that it zips from top down so if you need to redo your laces mid-hike just zip it open from the bottom and you can access your boots without needing to remove the gaiters (with other brands using velcro, if you have to undo it mid hike in deep snow it can sometimes be hard to seal those type shut again - not so with this zipper closure). Also really like the secure clip that holds the top tight to the leg much better than competing brands. One small complaint though is that this particular clip has larger gaps in it than for the Armadillo LT and so when going through deep snow it gets packed in making it very difficult to unclamp the top till you dig out the snow. But with the top down zipper there's typically no need to until you're back at the car.
